My kids go back to school this week and the following, and it's got me thinking how I want us to be mindful throughout the school year, in relation to supporting them. Mindful Monday is on my mind, and I have a few practices I want to work trough each week.
First, positive talk to start the day. Every morning, whether we use positive affirmations, express gratitude, or share something positive we look forward to for that day, I want us starting every day on a positive note. Even when we are rushing, or overslept. I want positivity to be the focus. To start their day on a right note, for that note to help push them through the rest of the day.
Secondly, to be mindful of our schedule. I've always noticed being mindful of our routine and plans of the week greatly affects my children, and I want to make sure every week, I'm scheduling in not just school and activities, but time for rest, time for fun, and for play. Making sure a balance exists, and being mindful if they might need more of one than the other.
Finally, I want to be mindful about my time with them. We may spend a lot of time in one room, under one roof together, but I need to be mindful that I'm at eye level, playing, reading or listening to them for a certain amount of time every day.
What would help your family as you start back to school? How can you be more mindful as we transition out of Summer into the newest school year?

yoga, food, family, and travel. these are what drive my life! as a stay at home mom of 2 little girls with an active yoga practice. i longed to find the perfect yoga class for my own children. i felt a calling to a kids yoga teacher training in early November, 2017 and answered the call. in 2018, i felt called towards a greater mission. teaching teens & adults. today, i am living my dream.
